wHO ARE we?

Hi friends! 👋🏻👋🏽 We’re Davey & Omie, an interracial, binational gay traveling couple (what a mouthful!). Davey is Scottish and Omie is Mexican-American.

Our journey started in Miami, where we both met. Funny enough, neither of us was even supposed to be in Miami on the day we met. But when the universe has a plan, it makes sure you don’t miss it (so cliché, but true). Since then, we've explored over 35 countries, from the classic gay-friendly destinations to places where being a gay traveler requires extra caution.

We started Traveling Boyfriends because we didn’t see a lot of honest, firsthand experiences, specific to the kind of gay travel we like doing. We want to show LGBTQ+ travelers that you can see the world while doing it safely. At the end of the day, this world belongs to us, too.

Here, we share our travel experiences beyond the gay classics. We show the underrated, the hidden gems, the not-so-gay-friendly-on-paper countries that you might not have considered. Maybe you’ve dreamed of visiting Petra in Jordan but felt hesitant. We get it, and we’re here to help. While traveling is a personal decision, we want you to feel empowered to see the world beyond what we’re told we can see.
